“… a very well-written and drama-filled history of America's founding and revolution and development with Newport as the orientation point. The hardships of 17th-century life, the privations of the Revolution, are described in living detail, as well as the resort life of the 19th century when Newport became the Queen of Resorts. If you've ever been to Newport or Rhode Island and liked it, a must.”
